Meet The Artist

Taroum Rimtobaye
- For me, movement has always been about freedom and voice. I am a dancer, so I feel the world through rhythm — the way the body, like music, can tell stories words cannot. For fifteen years I lived on stage, touring the world with H’sao, carrying my Chadian roots across continents and discovering, step by step, that dance is more than performance: it is testimony, survival, and joy.
- Dance, for me, is not a choice but a necessity. It is a force inside me that rises and bursts outward, an urgency to express who I am and what I feel. It has taught me that expression is essential — that everyone, in their own way, has the right and even the responsibility to find their voice, whether through dance, graffiti, music, or any other form of creation.
- My journey began in Chad, where resilience was a necessity, but it carried me to Canada, where I continue to build bridges between cultures. Afrocardio, the company I founded, was born from this desire — to help women feel powerful, beautiful, and alive in their own skin. My path has also been about giving back: whether opening a daycare for underprivileged children in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, or creating a foundation to support widows and single mothers in Chad, my work has always been guided by the same principle as my art — that we are strongest when we lift each other up.
- Creativ Anarchy is where all of these pieces come together: the rhythms of dance, the rebellious voice of street art, and the conviction that creation is both freedom and responsibility. It is my way of telling the world that art, like life, must be lived fully — with strength, courage, and love.

- For me, art has always been about storytelling and emotion. I’m a director, so I see the world through the rhythm of movies — how images cut together can create power. I’m an artist who grew up loving comic books, so memorable characters and incredible locations have always been my fuel. And for me, music isn’t optional — it’s essential. It’s the heartbeat that sets any mood and the soundtrack that makes life itself feel alive.
- I’ve also always had a deep respect for street art and what it represents: the necessity to express yourself in a world that too often silences voices, and the courage to do so even when there are consequences. That act of defiance — to create without boundaries, without compromise — is something I’ve always craved. It’s not just an artistic impulse, it’s a human one. The need to be heard, to leave a mark, to say “I exist, I matter, I also have a voice” lies in all of us.
- My wish with Creativ Anarchy is to spread that respect and admiration for street art — to celebrate creation as protest, style as power, and freedom as the only rule.
- My journey began in Quebec in 1969, but the spark truly lit at age ten, when JJ from Good Times unveiled Ernie Barnes’ paintings. The exaggerated poses and electrifying energy of that art ignited a fire in me — one that still burns.
- For 30 years I worked as a professional artist on corporate and big-budget projects, but Creativ Anarchy is my creativity without boundaries — my art of the soul. It’s where the inspirations of my childhood collide with the raw power of street culture, a project that carries my deepest convictions: that art must be bold, unapologetic, and free.
- Join me on this journey where the echoes of childhood dreams merge with the defiant energy of the streets — a whirlwind of rhythm, color, rebellion, and pure creation.

From the pulsating beats of music to the contagious good vibes, vibrant characters, and the art of exaggeration, these elements are what fuel my passion.
For me, art is all about music, positive vibes, unforgettable characters, and the power of exaggeration.
My tale begins in Quebec, Canada, in the dynamic year of 1969 – the year I entered the world.
But the spark truly ignited when at the age of 10, JJ from Good Times unveiled his paintings. It was a game-changer! The exaggerated poses and electrifying vibes of Ernie Barnes’ art ignited a fire within me.
I yearned to capture that same excitement, energy, and rhythmic sense of fun that I experienced in the presence of those mesmerizing paintings.
At 19, the universe conspired to grant me my first artistic endeavor – the animated short “Evilution,” a labor of love completed seven years later.
Following that, I spent a decade storyboarding and directing animated TV series. Then, in 2004, I plunged headfirst into the booming video game industry – a decision that filled me with excitement and opened endless possibilities.
And now, Street Funk MTL – my bold attempt to revive the pulsating inspirations of my childhood – to recapture the magic and energy that fueled my earliest artistic endeavors.
Join me in this vibrant journey where creativity meets nostalgia, and the echoes of childhood dreams resound in a whirlwind of positive vibes, rhythmic joy and pure fun!
